Slido blackboard module

This project involved creating a learning module for an external client, in collaboration with my partner, Folasade Ekulona. Our goal was to help Towson University professors and staff learn how to use the Slido platform to enhance their online teaching.
Throughout the process, we communicated closely with the stakeholders to understand their specific needs and expectations. We took on the role of subject matter experts, diving deep into the platform to ensure we were providing accurate and useful content. As instructional designers, we developed mini tutorials in both video and written formats, giving participants a variety of ways to engage with the material at their own pace.

Creating the Slido Blackboard course aligns with AECT Standard 2a by combining effective pedagogy with engaging, practical content tailored for Towson University faculty. We used mini tutorials, videos, and guides to support diverse learning styles and help users apply Slido in their teaching.

The project also reflects Standard 5b through rapid prototyping, allowing us to test and refine content based on user feedback. We ensured accessibility and accuracy (5d) by using Blackboard’s accessibility checker to address issues like color contrast and alt text.

Collaboration (4a) was central, with regular teamwork and stakeholder input shaping a course that met user needs and enhanced the overall learning experience.

This project allowed me to apply instructional design in a real-world context, emphasizing communication, collaboration, and ethical practices. Using rapid prototyping, my partner and I refined the Slido Blackboard course based on user and stakeholder feedback, ensuring it was effective and engaging for Towson University faculty.
