This artifact highlights the process of planning and preparing content for an e-learning module created in Articulate 360. The storyboard played a key role in organizing the module, where I outlined the script and layout for each section. It also included clear placements for formative and summative assessments to track learner progress and ensure the content aligned with learning objectives. I also mapped out interactive activities and multimedia elements, like videos, to make the learning experience more engaging and dynamic. This process allowed me to create a well-structured and effective learning module that not only met instructional goals but also kept the learner experience at the forefront.

relevance

Using a storyboard in the design process directly supports AECT Standard 1e (Ethics in Content Knowledge) by helping ensure the content is presented in a thoughtful, accessible, and ethical way. Storyboarding gives me the opportunity to carefully organize and plan how information is delivered, making sure that everything is appropriate, inclusive, and free from bias. It also helps me ensure that any assessments, multimedia, or interactive elements are used in ways that truly support and enhance the learning experience without misleading or confusing learners.

Moreover, the storyboard process encourages ethical decisions when it comes to accessibility. It allows me to think ahead about how to design for all learners, including those with disabilities, so that everyone can easily navigate and engage with the content. Ethical considerations also come into play when using third-party content, ensuring it’s credited properly and respects intellectual property rights.

By planning the module through a storyboard, I can make sure that the content is not only effective but also fair, inclusive, and respectful, creating a learning environment that aligns with ethical standards.

reflection

Creating a storyboard from start to finish gave me a great chance to apply my previous experience as a 4th-grade teacher to the field of instructional design. I was able to take my knowledge of lesson planning and use it to map out the content for the e-learning module in a clear, structured way, ensuring it was organized to meet the learning objectives.

As part of the process, I got feedback from fellow perspective instructional designers, which was incredibly helpful. Their insights allowed me to see what worked well in the design and what areas might need improvement. This feedback gave me a clearer picture of how to refine the module, making it even more effective for learners. Overall, it reinforced the importance of collaboration and continuous refinement in creating meaningful, impactful learning experiences.
